2nd Edition of Jammu Duathlon-2021 organised

JAMMU, Oct 31: Jammu Hill Sports Club (JKSC) organised Jammu’s 2nd Edition of Duathlon 70.3, powered by AM TATA, wherein 124 athletes participated in Duathlon 70.3 and Olympic Distance category, here today.
Determined to win, about 124 athletes gathered at Shiva Farms Jammu to participate in the 2nd edition of the Jammu Duathlon. A ‘Duathlon’ consists of Running and Cycling-the usual format is run-cycle-run.
The much-awaited Jammu’s annual largest open category Duathlon, which started at 4 am with the flag off, was done by Elite Runner DySP Naresh Sharma and Parshotam Lal. The participants of the Duathlon 70.3 started with 2 km running, 90 km cycling and then finished with running leg 21kms with final cut off time being 8:30 hours, whereas the Olympic Distance started at 6 am with flagged off by Ankur Mahajan and Elite Runner Vijay Sharma, wherein the participants of the said event Olympic Distance started with 1.5 km running, 40 km cycling and then finished with running leg 10 kms with final cut off time being 4:30 hours.
In Duathlon 70.3 (Male), 1.Aman Gupta, Tarlok Bhatia and Sawan Nagpal completed the event with clocked timing 5:20 hours, 5:26 hours & 5:31 hours respectively, whereas in female category, Kanupriya Garg has completed the run with clocked timing 7:54 hours.
In Olympic Distance (Male), the winners were Chandershekhar (02:10 hours), Akershit Pathak (02:20 hours) & Anav Puri (02:22 hours), whereas in female category, the winners were Dr Ritu Ahal (03:07 hours), Harry (03:11 hours) & Sonia Sawhney (03:15 hours).
Some of the finest Athletes of Jammu braved the tough conditions and made their city proud by performing above their potential and excelling in the respective, said organisers of the event and thanked to Kaffberry (Nutrition Partner), Anytime Fitness, Saraswati Jewellers, Kapahi Constructions, Legno Furniture, Maximum Health Care, Kapil Arora, Food Strong Design School, Swastik Hotel and Wondrous Women for their unconditional support and also said that without sponsors, many programs, events and spaces would not be viable.
