JAMMU, Nov 26: Akash Batra and Hiteshwar Singh have been awarded with Sher-i-Kashmir Awards by Government of J&K UT recently in a simple function, held at MA Stadium for their superb performances in the disciplines of Netball and Roll Ball respectively.
Being an International (Asain) Gold medallist and two times Inter-Zonal Gold medallist, Akash Batra has also got ‘A’ grade in Certificates Course in Netball under National Institute of Sports Patiala. He qualified Asian Umpires Camp, organised at Hong Kong.
Being an international umpire, Akash was selected for umpiring in 1st South Asian Girls International Netball Championship, held at Kathmandu (Nepal).
Hiteshwar Singh had represented India twice in World Cup held at Bangladesh in 2017 and Chennai in 2019 and won Gold medal on both the occasions. He had also represented India in Inline Hockey World Championship, held at Itlay in 2018. He had also conferred with National Child Award by Ministry of Women Welfare and Child Development in 2009 as well as Sardar Rangil Singh by J&K Olympic Association and many others.
