JAMMU, Mar 10: Aircel-XI Jammu registered win over Media-XI Cricket Club Jammu by a margin of 23 runs at Moulana Azad Stadium, here today.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Aircel-XI led by skipper Jaswinder Singh made 173 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 18 overs. Kewal Kotwal was the top scorer with 65 runs off 34 balls, while Sahil Sharma contributed 25 runs off 20 balls.
For Media-XI CC, Des Raj (Bittu) was the pick of the bowlers, scalping 4 important wickets, while Ashu Kumar and Rahul Khatri shared one wicket apiece.
Chasing the target, Media-XI CC led by skipper Mir Imran managed to score 151 runs, thus lost the match by a margin of 23 runs. Sunil Bali was the highest scorer with 52 runs off 35 balls, while Rahul Khatri made 32 runs in 29 balls and Ashu Kumar chipped in with 26 runs off just 9 balls.
For Aircel-XI, Kewal Kotwal bowled well and scalped 3 wickets, while Bhanu Sambyal and Jaswinder Singh took 1 wicket each.
Kewal Kotwal was adjudged as the man of the match for his magnificent knock.
