AHCC, Simula seal berth in final of 2nd Martyrs Gold Cup

JAMMU, Apr 8: Getting better of their rivals in the respective semifinals, A Horizon Cricket Club (AHCC) and Simula Cricket Club sealed berth in the finals and will lock horns against each other in the summit clash at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here.
Earlier, in the first semifinal, Simula Cricket Club drubbed Patoli Cricket Club by 20 runs, while in another semifinal, A Horizon Cricket Club was declared winner over KC Sports Club as the latter was disqualified by the organisers on disciplinary background (as per the organisers).
This ongoing 2nd Martyrs Gold Cup Cricket Tournament is being organized by the Department of Physical Education, GGM Science College in collaboration with Sukhdev Cricket Academy.
In the first semifinal, Simula Cricket Club won the toss and decided to bat first to score 134 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Satish Kumar top scored with 35 runs, while Hinan contributed 21 runs to the total. From Patoli Cricket Club, Yogesh Sikka and Ravinder took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Patoli Cricket Club managed to score 114 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, thus lost the match by 20 runs. Shanu and Panku contributed 21 and 20 runs to the total respectively. From Simula CC, Kuldeep Kumar was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 5 important wickets, while Raman Dutta claimed 1 wicket.
