AGS student bags silver in Wushu at Russia

SRINAGAR, Feb 19: A student of Army Goodwill School Srinagar bagged a silver medal at an International Wushu Tournament in Russia.
An Army spokesman said Hashim Ashraf, a class 10th student of Army Goodwill School, Hanzik, bagged a silver medal at the Moscow Wushu Stars 2018, an International Wushu Tournament in Russia.
“Fighting in the Below 56 Kg category, Hashim had a dream run in the tournament. In the final bout, Hashim faced a tough competitor from Kazakhstan.
It was a closely contested final, but Hashim, who had only few hours ago played his semi final bout, was not able to overcome the competitor from Kazakhstan,” he said.
“Hashim, who hails from Dharmonah Village of Budgam District, was trained and sponsored by his school.
Army had always encouraged and motivated Hashim so as to help him in honing his sporting acumen continuously and help him achieve greater heights in terms of sporting glory,” he added.
