JAMMU, Aug 26: Paying surprise visit to ongoing divisional level volleyball and cricket coaching camps, besides a visit to youth hostel, Nagrota, Navin Aggarwal, Director General Youth Services and Sports took stock of the arrangements and batted for better facilities to be provided to sportspersons including standard sports infrastructure.
Mr Aggarwal accompanied by Tirath Ram, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu visited volleyball Under-14 boys and girls coaching camp at youth hostel, Nagrota and cricket Under-14 coaching camp at MA Stadium, here today.
Checking the food being provided to the budding sportspersons, besides lodging and allied facilities, DG Sports ordered for better facilities for better comfort of the players.
Interacting with coaches and trainers, Mr Aggarwal advised them for intensive and rigorous training of the players to help them fine-tune their skill up to the maximum level and enable them perform well at the higher levels.
Giving patient hearing to the problems projected by warden youth hostel, Nagrota, the DG Sports served strict directions to him with regard to renovation of the hostel before the next level of competition.
Meanwhile, Mr Aggarwal also encouraged Speedball players of the State who recently participated in International Speedball Championship by meeting them and assuring them induction of the game in National School Games, organized by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI). Member J&K Speedball Association, Pawan Nanda was also present on the occasion.
