JAMMU, Feb 11: Ranjeet Kalra, Ace Sports Administrator called on Farooq Khan, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor J&K and in-charge of Youth Services and Sports at the Civil Secretariat, here today.
Kalra during the meeting with the Advisor discussed various issues pertaining to promotion of Sports & Youth Affairs in the Union Territory of J&K.
Apart from other things the three major requests that he put forward to the Advisor were the framing of a new comprehensive Sports Policy for the Specially-abled sportspersons, expediting the process of the long pending appointment of outstanding sportspersons under Sports Quota to various government departments and the finalization of the draft of J&K Sports Policy.
The advisor issued immediate directions to Secretary J&K Sports Council Dr Naseem Choudhary for framing of an all inclusive comprehensive Sports Policy for the Specially-abled sportspersons .The Advisor also issued directions to speed up the process of appointment of outstanding sportspersons,” Kalra added.
There is sizeable number of Specially-abled sportspersons in J&K who excel in different games.
