Abid wreaks havoc; Shubham, Suryansh, Henan Nasir share honours

JAMMU, Aug 16: Spinning web around the rival batsmen, talented left-arm spinner Abid Mushtaq wreaked havoc and scalped 7 wickets to help JKCA Blue (Jammu Province) bundle out JKCA Orange (Kashmir Province) for 175 runs in their first innings, while batsmen Shubham Khajuria, Suryansh Raina, Nasir Lone and Henan Malik shared honours on Day-1 of the final match of the ongoing Senior Men’s Multi-Day Tournament, being organised by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, Srinagar today.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, JKCA Orange bundled out for a paltry total of 175 runs in 47.3 overs as left-arm spinner Abid Mushtaq stole the show with the ball, taking 7 wickets including a hat-trick. Nasir Lone top scored with 53 runs, while skipper Fazil Rashid and Umar Nazir contributed 30 and 27 runs to the total respectively.
For JKCA Blue, Abid Mushtaq was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 7 wickets by conceding 40 runs in his 18.3 overs, while speedster Yudhveer Singh bagged 2 wickets.
In reply, JKCA Blue were in command at 207/2 in 39 overs at stumps on day-1 today. Openers Shubham Khajuria (74) and Suryansh Raina (72) scored magnificent half-centuries, while Henan Malik and skipper Shubham Pundir were at the crease at the draw of stumps with 40 and 10 runs respectively.
For JKCA Blue, Shekh Usaid and Nasir Lone claimed one wicket each. The match was officiated by Hilal Mir and Faizan as Umpires, while Azeem Farooq and Umar were scorers.
