JAMMU, Nov 9: Cueists Jaideep Manocha, Abhishek Pathania, Vidit Gowri and Sohail Khalid sealed berth in the quarterfinals of the Senior Snooker Championship, which is as part of the ongoing 23rd Jammu District Junior and Senior Billiards and Snooker Championship, being organized by J&K Billiards and Snooker Association at MA Stadium, here.
Earlier, in the matches played today, Jaideep Manocha defeated Assem Ghai (3-2) by (56-35, 30-55, 61-10, 41-52, 56-40), while Abhishek Pathania outplayed Akshya (3-2) by (51-63, 52-12, 14-62, 73-33, 59-37), Jaideep got better of Arjun Sharma (3-1) by (66-50, 49-56, 57-10, 57-35) and Sohail Khalid trounced Furkan Wani (3-1) by (56-37, 56-01, 17-77, 72-17).
Meanwhile, the cueists as also the officials are facing lots of problems in connection with the pathetic condition of the toilet at the Billiards Hall.
There is scarcity of water in the toilet and almost all the urinals are in extremely bad shape, which leaves the cueists in the lurch.
Talking to EXCELSIOR, one of the cueists on the condition of anonymity said they have to leave the hall and travel a long distance for going to toilet as the same is in dilapidated condition at the Billiards Hall.
An official said that uncongenial atmosphere like this adversely affects the performance of the players, adding that the renovation of the toilet and allied infrastructure at the Billiards Hall is the need of the hour, rather the demand of the situation.
