JAMMU, Aug 28: Abhishek Pathania will lock horns with Abhi Gupta in the final of the ongoing 1st Jammu District Open 6 Red Ball Championship, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Billiards and Snooker Association (JKBSA), at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here tomorrow.
Earlier, in the first semis, Abhishek Pathania beat Abhishek Goswami by 4-3 frames. In the first frame, Abhishek Pathania registered win by 38-15 and the game was equalized by Abhishek Goswami by winning the second frame by 40-26.
Abhishek Goswami continued the winning pace and won the third frame by 33-07, while Abhishek Pathania bounced back and won the fourth frame by 34-27.
In the fifth frame, Abhishek Pathania registered win by 33-02 and Abhishesk Goswami again equalized the game by winning the sixth frame by 32-11.
In the seventh and decider frame, Abhishek Pathania crushed Abhishek Goswami by 42-35 and registered berth in the final.
The second semifinal was played between Abhi Gupta and Jaswinder Singh, which was won by former by 4-2 frames.
Abhi won the first three frames by 51-14, 49-20 and 48-38. Jaswinder registered win in the fourth frame by 36-24 and also won the fifth frame by 34-21. In the sixth frame, Abhi registered win over Jaswinder by 45-19 and sailed into the final of the Championship.
Meanwhile, Sub Junior Jammu District Snooker Championship, being organized by JKBSA commenced today at same venue.
In the first round, Akhil Gupta, Pankaj Kumar, Sanand Sharma and Varum Kumar crushed rivals in their respective matches and registered berth in the next stage.
In the first match, Akhil Gupta beat Sham Singh by 2-1. Akhil won the first frame by 51-14, while the game was equalized by Sham after winning the second frame by 55-43. In the decider frame, Akhil registered win over Sham by 55-29.
In the second match, Pankaj Kumar registered win over Aryan by straight 2-0 frames (60-08 and 70-24).
In the third match, Sanand Sharma crushed Padam Gupta by 2-1 frames (39-45, 56-25 and 49-29) and in the fourth match, Varum Kumar outplayed Jayant Kumar by straight 2-0 frames (50-25 and 43-19).
According to spokesperson of JKBSA, entries for the Junior and Senior Snooker and Billiards Championship have started as Juniors Snooker is starting on August 30. All the players are requested to their names registered. Draws of Junior Snooker will be taken out on August 30 at 5pm.
