JAMMU, Dec 15: Displaying extraordinary batting skills, Jammu boy Aarav Mahajan again blossomed with the willow, scoring magnificent half-century against strong Uttar Pradesh while representing Uttarakhand in the ongoing Men’s U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy at Highlanders Cricket Stadium, Kashipur today.
Aarav has now slammed two splendid centuries and two big fifties in the six innings he has played so far in the season. Earlier, batting first, Uttarakhand scored a decent total of 273 runs in 72.1 overs in their first innings. Skipper Aarav Mahajan top scored with 75 runs off 117 balls, studded with 6 fours and 2 sixes, while Poorvansh Dhruv and Ayush Gusain contributed 67 and 52 runs to the total respectively. Wicketkeeper batter Aditya Nathani also contributed valuable 41 runs to the total.
Aditya Kumar Singh was the most successful bowler for Uttar Pradesh, who took 5 wickets while Shubham Mishra bagged 4 wickets. In reply, Uttar Pradesh were struggling at 56/3 in 15 overs at the draw of stumps on day-1 today. Manav Sindhu contributed 29 runs, while Kavya Teotia was unbeaten on 18 runs. Aditya Rawat took 2 wickets for Uttarakhand, while Yash claimed one.
