JAMMU, June 15: In the ongoing J&K UT Table Tennis Ranking Championships 2025-26 at MA Stadium, intense matches across various age groups were held today.
In the Under-13 Boys final, Aadvik Garg secured his first title by narrowly defeating Saiyam Nischal in a thrilling match. Aadvik clinched the decisive game by 11-9, demonstrating exceptional resilience and skill.
The Under-15 Girls final featured a sibling rivalry between Myrah and Syrah Dewan. Myrah emerged victorious with a 3-1 win, adding another accolade to her growing list of achievements. In the Under-11 Boys final, Akshaj Garg triumphed over Satvik Nischal with a 3-2 victory. Despite Satvik’s commendable comeback from two games down, Akshaj maintained composure to secure the win.
The Under-11 Girls final saw Syrah Dewan defeating Manyata by 3-0, while in the Under-13 Girls final, Syrah Dewan again showcased her prowess by beating Alena by 3-0.
In the Under-19 Boys category, several first-round matches took place: Hunny defeated Jasraj by 3-0, Samar overcame Ujjwal by 3-0, Aahan bested Mohit by 3-0, Arnav triumphed over Kanav by 3-0, Pranit won against Rohan by 3-1, Pratham defeated Aadvik by 3-0, Pranwat beat Divyansh by 3-1 and Satyam edged out Ansh by 3-1.
The Men’s Round 1 matches concluded with Nishant defeating Gourav by 3-1, Gurjoot overcoming Arnav by 3-1, Mohd Safeer edging out Abhijeet by 3-2, Sumit Mahajan besting Divyansh by 3-0 and Aadvik winning against Viren by 3-1.
The tournament was graced by notable figures, including Ajay Sharma, Sheetal Gandotra, Satbir Singh, Maninder Singh, Vasu Dewan, Narinder Singh and Narinder Singh (Retd PEM). Matches were officiated by Gurvinder Singh, NIS Table Tennis Coach, Nitin Verma, Ankit Sharma and NIS Table Tennis Coach.
