JAMMU, Feb 19: Shubh Memorial International School (SMIS), Akhnoor today celebrated its 6th Annual Sports Day with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere here.
Sub-Divisional Police Office (SDPO) Akhnoor, Ajay Sharma was the chief guest. The programme began with welcoming address made by the school Principal, Shilpa Mahajan, followed by lighting of lamp.
The chief guest and school principal took the salute of the march past of the students with some stirring marching music by the band while a homage was paid to sports legends also.
Various type of race were organised for pre kids such as Carrot race, Chocolate race, Ball race, Lemon race, Three leg race, Balance the Balloon game, Frog race and Obstacle race wherein 250 students participated.
The young achievers were awarded with best athletes in different races by the chief guest.
The principal of the school appreciated the students for their enthusiastic participation in the sports day programme and thanked the staff for the planning and execution of the event.
