Jammu May 19: Jammu University (JU) defeated Media XI Cricket Club, Jammu (Media XI) by 32 runs in a friendly T-20 match played at University of Jammu Ground, here today.
Captain Rajesh Salhotra won the toss and batting first, JU scored 163 runs by losing 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
For JU, Deepak (63 runs of 47 balls), Rajesh (27 runs of 26 balls) and Aman Sambyal (23 runs of 17 balls) were the main contributors. For Media XI, Rahul Khatri with 3 wickets remained the pick of the bowlers while Ranjeet Singh also scalped 2 wickets.
Chasing the target, Media XI kept losing wickets on regular intervals and managed to score 131 runs, thus lost the match by 32 runs.
For JU, Sonu was the wrecker-in-chief, who sent Media XI openers back to the pavilion at 7/2. Rajesh, Balwant and Avtar also shared wicket apiece.
