POONCH, Sept 8: Poonch Police Sports Festival which had begun on September 6, 2017 is going on in full swing.
The young boys and girls are participating in all the events with zeal and enthusiasm.
Today, the girls sports events were played and in today’s function, Lieutenant Sarabbir Kour was the chief guest.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were DySP Zaffar Rather, DySP Mohan Sharma, Sudershan Kumar Principal Boys higher Secondary School Poonch and Mohd Tariq, chairman of Shaheed Manjit Singh Volleyball Club Poonch.
In Kabaddi, Girls High School Harni defeated Girls Higher Secondary School Poonch while in Tug of war GHSS Poonch A defeated GHSS Poonch B.
In Hockey, Stadium Poonch team defeated GHSS Poonch by 4-0 while in Volleyball GHS Harni defeated GHSS Poonch.
In the 100 mtr race, Jagpreet Kour, Razia Koser and Shazia Koser got first, second and third positions respectively, while in shot put, Razwana Kouser of GHSS Poonch got first, while Rafia Koser of GHS Harni second and Sameena Koser of GHS Harni third positions.
In Javelin Throw, Pawandeep Kour of GHSS Poonch got first position, while Afia Kose of GHS Harni and Shasta Anjum of GHSS Poonch got second and third positions respectively.
In Discus Throw, Rukshar Kouser of GHSS Poonch got first place, while Iram Naz and Heena Naz of GHS Harni claimed second and third positions respectively.
Speaking on the occasion Sarabbir Kour said, sports is the best medium to ensure the wholesome development of the individual’s personality and such festivals help in identifying the sports talent from rural areas and in grooming the students to become promising sportspersons.
She congratulated Poonch Police for organizing the Festival.
