JAMMU, Sept 3: National Yuva Cooperative Society (NYCS) will be holding trials in five J&K districts during the GAIL Indian Speed Star Session-III next month (October) for Pan India Athletic Talent scouting for summer Olympics 2020-2024.
“This time, the NYCS has allotted trials in five J&K districts of Jammu, Udhampur, Srinagar, Anantnag and Leh to be held next month. The district trials shall be followed by the state trials (introduced this time) in November and December,” State Representative of NYCS, Opinder Sharma said.
Earlier, the NYCS held a meeting of the representatives from North Zone, including J&K, Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi and Chandigarh at New Delhi.
The meeting was chaired by National president of NYCS, Rajesh Pandey who was accompanied by Parkash Sahu (MD NYCS), Hiranya Mohanty (Project Director GISS Session-III), Manoj Sharma
(Regional Head North India NYCS), Maneesh Bahuguna (CEO AMHC) and Vijender (coach).
Speaking in the meeting, Rajesh Pandey said that NYCS has its presence in 703 districts of country. “NYCS is the only society in world which is working as social movements with professional way. He said that Session-III will be bigger, better and stronger and asked that we should reach every school, block and panchyat level in Session-III, said the NYCS president.
He further said that in Session-I and Session-II, the NYCS held trials in 167 districts involving over 1,50,000 boys and girl athletes in track events of 100, 200, 400 and 800 meters in two age groups of 11-14 year and 15-17 year.
