JAMMU, Sept 2: Eighty-one chess enthusiasts are leading after completion of the second round of the ongoing South Asian Amateur Chess Championship, being organized by All J&K Chess Association (AJKCA) and sponsored by J&K State Sports Council, here today.
The second round was inaugurated by Kuljeet Singh Jamwal, Press Secretary, All J&K Chess Association (AJKCA) at Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust, Channi Himmat in presence of Atul Kumar Gupta, President, AJKCA, Joint Secretary All India Chess Federation, Ashiq Ahmad Kolu, General Secretary, Baldev Raj, Vice President, Khalid Amin, Treasurer, Vikas Nanda, Coordinator, Dr AS Bhatia Advisor, Raj Kumar and Rakesh Gupta.
Singh Soram Rahul, Shet Prajwal P, Arun Rathi, Nayak Sanjeeban, Nayandeep, Dilip Kothangle, Aryan, Jeet Jain, Yashpal Arora, Joy Lazar MA and Mohammad Dilshad were among 81 players who are leading at 2 points each after the completion of second round.
Fourteen professional Arbiters are working for smooth conduct of this event, while Srivatsan R has been appointed by Asian Chess Federation as Chief Arbiter.
A total of 9 rounds under Swiss System will be played in this first ever mega international event in J&K. This event will provide a big platform to J&K State players to hone their talent.
