Tanishta Club outclasses New Challenger by 4 wkts, seals berth in semis

JAMMU, June 20: Three wickets haul by Akash Chowdhary helped Tanishta Club Jammu to outclass New Challenger Jammu in the first quarterfinal match by 4 wickets and to seal berth in the semis of the ongoing 8th Pawan Memorial Cricket Tourney, being organized by Singh Cricket Club (SCC) Akhnoor and AYC Akhnoor at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Akhnoor, here.
Batting first, New Challenger Jammu made 144 runs for all out in 19.4 overs. Sahil Bhalwal chipped in 37 runs off 17 balls, Somay Jain made 34 runs in 27 balls, Ram Dayal scored 26 runs in 19 balls and Ashu contributed with 14 runs off 12 runs.
From Tanishta Club Jammu side, Akash Chowdhary was the pick of the bowler with 3 wickets, while Raman Dutta and Aman Singh shared 2 wickets each. Vishavjeet and Satish took one wicket apiece.
In the second inning, Tanishta Club Jammu chased the target for the loss of 6 wickets in 16 overs. Vivek was the top scorer with 31 runs off 27 balls, Puneet made 27 runs in 10 balls, Satish scored 25 runs in 21 balls and Rahul Mussa contributed with 14 runs.
From New Challenger Jammu side, Sahil and Vijay Dogra shared 2 wickets each, while Pranav and Ram Dayal scalped one wicket apiece.
Akash Chowdhary of Tanishta Club Jammu was declared as Man of the Match for his brilliant bowling performance.
The match was officiated by Rajinder Sharma and Vikas Bali as umpires, while Ashu maintained the scorecard.
The tournament is being organized under the overall supervision of Sham Singh Langeh, President Singh Cricket Club (SCC), Akhnoor.
