SCC, Baloria XI outplay rivals, register berths in next round

JAMMU, June 17: Shastri Cricket Club (SCC) and Baloria XI outplayed rivals in their respective matches and registered berths in the next round of the ongoing 1st Summer T-20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Lieutenant Thakur Dass Cricket Club Akhnoor, at GGM Science College hostel ground, here today.
In the first match of the day, SCC registered win over Stadium XI by a huge margin of 128 runs. Electing to bat first after winning the toss, SCC made 183 runs for all out in 20 overs. Chander played a splendid inning of 61 runs, while Deepak and Honey scored 32 and 28 runs respectively.
For Stadium XI side, Kuljeet scalped 3 wickets, while Nitin Saini took 2 wickets. Amit and Vishal clinched one wicket each.
In the second inning, Stadium XI collapsed at paltry 65 runs for all out in 15 overs. Shivam made 20 runs, while Ansu scored 10 runs.
For SCC side, Vicky and Sahil scalped 2 wickets each, while Aman, Akash and Aman took one wicket apiece.
Chander of SCC was adjudged as Man of the Match for his excellent batting performance.
Meanwhile, Baloria XI registered 5 wickets win over Lupin XI Barrier in the second match of the day. Batting first, Lupin XI scored 99 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. L Slathia was the top scorer with 25 runs, while Chander Rudhra made 23 runs.
For Baloria XI side, Rahil Singh and Kuldeep took 2 wickets each, while Rohit, Raman, Satish, Puneet and Vishwajeet scalped one wicket apiece.
In the second inning, Baloria ZI chased the target for the loss of 5 wickets. Raman Dutta chipped in 24 runs, while Harsh and Amritpal made 21 and 19 runs respectively.
For Lupin XI side, Aditya, Shashi and Kamaldeep scalped one wicket each.
Kuldeep of Baloria XI was declared as Man of the Match.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik and Madan Lal as umpires, while  Sandeep Manchanda maintained the scoreboard.
