JAMMU, Sept 28: UK Generation Programme got underway at Jodhamal Public School, wherein two British Teaching Assistants have come for a work period of three months till December 2015.
Jodhamal Public School is the first school in Jammu to have got Accreditation with British Council by winning the International School Award for 2013-2016 and this is the second time the school is hosting the British Teachers to add the International Dimensions to the Curriculum.
ISA Coordinator Bhawna Madaan went to Chennai for an Orientation Programme wherein all Teaching Assistants from England were made to meet the host school representatives and to interact on how the Teachinbg Assistants from Great Britain can add value to the curriculum of the host school.
Madaan escorted the Teaching Assistants Rebekah Amy Jerram and Louren Bridgeman to Jammu. There was a welcome assembly for the two teaching assistants who will be doing Home Stay at the Coordinator’s places to learn the Indian Culture and specifically our Jammu culture and Jammu cuisine.
Lauren in her address said that India is a rich country in its culture and heritage so they chose to be a part of this UK India Generation Programme although they had a choice of going to China as well.
Rebekah was overwhelmed to meet the students and staff of Jodhamal Public School and felt that they stay here is going to be full of learning experiences. Rebekah would be doing the Poem Recitation, Dance sessions and spoken English sessions with the Junior School.
Vice Principal, Monika Sethi and the Trustee Vikrant Kuthiala felicitated the two teaching assistants and gave them floral welcome.
