RAJOURI, June 1: Government Boys’ Model Higher Secondary School (GBMHSS), Rajouri, organized a grand felicitation ceremony to honour its student, Mohd Yasser, for winning the Asian Junior Boxing Championship 2026.
Students, teachers, parents and community members gathered to celebrate the achievement of the young boxer, who has brought laurels to Jammu and Kashmir and the country. Principal Mohd Muslim Wani congratulated Yasser and announced free education for him in recognition of his outstanding accomplishment. He also presented a cash reward of Rs 50,000 on behalf of the school fraternity.
The Principal further announced that Yasser’s photograph would be installed on the school’s Wall of Fame to inspire future generations. The school also honoured Mohd Farid, Yasser’s brother and a national-level boxer, for his contribution to the sport.
Describing Yasser as the “Pride of India and Pride of Rajouri,” the Principal said his success reflects hard work, discipline and determination.
