JAMMU, May 30: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Jammu, today commenced the Inter-Zonal District-Level competitions in Volleyball (Under-14 and Under-17 Girls) and Handball (Under-17 Girls) at MA Stadium here.
Around 140 student players from various zones of District Jammu are participating in the tournament, providing young athletes an opportunity to showcase their talent and compete for top honours.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the competitions, the District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO), Jammu, constituted various committees, including technical, medical, registration and equipment committees.
In the volleyball Under-17 girls’ category, Zone Akhnoor defeated Zone Miran Sahib by 2-0 sets. In the Under-14 girls’ volleyball event, Zone Bishnah registered a 2-0 victory over Zone Jammu.
In the Under-17 girls’ handball competition, Zone Bishnah outplayed Zone RS Pura by 7-2. The tournament will continue over the coming days with participants from different zones competing in various events.
