KISHTWAR, May 29: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma today inaugurated the Paddar Premier League 2026 Cricket Tournament at Chhatargarh Stadium, Gulabgarh in Paddar amid enthusiastic participation of local youth and sports lovers.
The tournament is being organised by the local administration of Paddar in collaboration with the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Kishtwar, along with other stakeholders. The event aims to promote sportsmanship, youth engagement and healthy recreational activities in the region under the ongoing 100 Days Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan launched by Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.
Deputy Commissioner appreciated the efforts of the organisers and encouraged young players to actively participate in sports and constructive activities for overall personality development. He emphasized that such initiatives help channelise the energy of youth in a positive direction and strengthen the anti-drug campaign across the Union Territory.
During his visit to Gulabgarh, Deputy Commissioner also chaired a public grievance redressal interaction at the office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Paddar. He patiently heard issues and demands raised by local residents and issued on-the-spot directions to concerned officers for speedy disposal of genuine grievances.
Later, Deputy Commissioner inspected the functioning of mandatory RFID Yatra Slip counters established at Paddar for the smooth conduct of the ongoing Shri Machail Mata Yatra 2026. He reviewed the preparedness and directed officials to ensure seamless registration facilities and efficient public services for pilgrims.
He also assessed arrangements regarding the availability of essential commodities and other facilities for devotees undertaking the yatra. Among others present on the occasion were ADC Kishtwar Pawan Kotwal, SDM Paddar Dr Amit Kumar, SDPO Paddar Vijay Bhagat, Tehsildar Paddar Vijay Gupta and other officers and officials.
