District Udhampur Inter-Zonal Boys Tournament enters 4th day

UDHAMPUR, May 26: The District Level Inter-Zonal Tournament for U-14 and U-17 Boys, organized by the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) Udhampur, continued on its fourth day with enthusiastic participation from young athletes across the district. Competitions in Table Tennis, Chess, Wushu and Kho-Kho were held amid a vibrant sporting atmosphere.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer Udhampur, Tarsem Singh, attended the event as the chief guest and encouraged participants to display discipline, dedication and sportsmanship. Interacting with the players, he urged them to remain focused on sports and contribute towards building a healthy and drug-free society.
In Table Tennis U-17 category, Ujwal Verma of DPS emerged winner while Keshav Katoch of National Academy secured the runner-up position. In the U-14 category, Sahasvat of Edu Bridge clinched the title and Sukant of Sacred Era finished runner-up.
In Chess U-14 category, Nidir Nagar secured first place while Tarun Thakur claimed the second position.
The Wushu U-17 competitions saw Munir win in Below 45 kg category, Anish Chib in Below 48 kg, Ajeet Singh in Below 52 kg, Shivansh in 56 kg, Kapil Raj in 60 kg, Nitish Singh in 65 kg and Vansh Goswami in 75 kg category.
In Kho-Kho, Zone Chenani dominated both categories by winning the U-17 and U-14 titles, while Zone Babey finished runner-up in both events.
