REASI, May 24: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) organized “Student Design Show 2026” at the Matrika Auditorium, showcasing innovative and creative projects developed by students of the Bachelor of Design programme. The exhibition reflected students’ abilities in design thinking, creativity, product innovation and problem-solving through a wide range of user-centered projects addressing real-world challenges.
Vice Chancellor of SMVDU, Pragati Kumar, graced the occasion and appreciated the efforts of the students. He encouraged them to continue pursuing innovation and excellence in the field of design. Renowned Jammu-based artist K K Gandhi attended the event as chief jury and interacted with students during the evaluation process.
The jury panel also included Dr Sanjay Mohan, Vinod Kumar and Prof Baijnath Koushik, who appreciated the originality, creativity and practical relevance of the projects.
Among others present were Prof Asok De and Dr Rashi Taggar. Coordinator, Bachelor of Design, Prof Ankush Anand briefed the dignitaries about the exhibition and its objectives. Assistant Professor Abhinav Behl was appreciated for mentoring students and coordinating the event.
On behalf of the organizing team, Dr Mir Irfan Ul Haq presented the vote of thanks. Following the exhibition, K K Gandhi conducted a live painting session, which drew enthusiastic participation and appreciation from students and faculty members.
