DYSS Reasi organises cricket tourney

REASI, Apr 13: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) Reasi organised a cricket tournament at General Zorawar Singh Stadium under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan to spread awareness against drug abuse among youth.
The event was held under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Reasi. The tournament was inaugurated by Arun Bangotra, Principal, Government Polytechnic College Reasi, in the presence of Rajesh Banotra, Superintendent ITI Reasi and Deepak Sharma, Principal BHSS Reasi.
Students from various educational institutions participated with enthusiasm, displaying sportsmanship and commitment towards building a drug-free society.
Tarsem Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Reasi, highlighted that the initiative is part of the mega Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan launched across Jammu & Kashmir under the leadership of Director General Anuradha Gupta and Deputy Director Activities Megha Biagia.
He said the aim of such programmes is to channelize youth energy into constructive activities and create awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse, promoting a healthy and disciplined lifestyle through sports.
In the tournament, BHSS Reasi defeated GDC Reasi by 57 runs in the first match. ITI Reasi won the second match against Government Polytechnic College Reasi by 2 wickets. In the final, BHSS Reasi emerged victorious by 6 wickets against ITI Reasi to lift the title.
