Inter-District Kalarippayattu trials begin

JAMMU, Apr 4: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), district Jammu, has commenced Inter-District UT level trials in the discipline of Kalarippayattu for Under-17 and Under-19 boys and girls at Youth Hostel Nagrota, Jammu.
The trials are being organized under the patronage of Director General Youth Services and Sports, J&K, Anuradha Gupta with guidance from Joint Director DYSS Jammu, Vinakshi Koul (JKAS) and overall supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma.
Around 90 students and players from various districts of J&K are participating in the trials, demonstrating their skills in the traditional martial art form.
The trials are being conducted by a team of experts and technical officials from the department, including Altaf Hussain, Anil Shan, Simran Kour, Vishal Balotra, Naresh Kumar and Ajay Wadhera.
