JAMMU, Apr 4: The Mega Box Cricket Tournament, being held at the inter-village level in Sub-Division RS Pura, is witnessing enthusiastic participation from cricket lovers across the region.
Organized in the memory of late Lala Sain Dass Gupta (ex-MLC) and late Vidya Devi, the Tournament is underway at The Kings Land Turf, RS Pura, opposite SKUAST.
The Tournament has drawn around 60 teams from different villages of the Sub-division, reflecting the growing popularity of cricket among local youth. The large-scale participation has created a vibrant and competitive sporting atmosphere, with matches being played in a spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship.
The event is being organized by Jai Durga Traders, RS Pura, popularly known as “Cinema Wale,” under the leadership of its owner Raman Gupta. Adequate arrangements have been put in place to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of matches, providing players with a well-managed platform to showcase their skills.
Adding a social dimension to the tournament, PAMM Global Foundation is actively supporting the event by spreading awareness among youth against drug abuse and other harmful activities. The foundation is encouraging young participants to adopt sports and positive lifestyles.
Manoj Kumar, a representative of the Foundation, emphasized that sports play a crucial role in channelizing the energy of youth in a constructive direction and keeping them away from negative influences.
Besides commemorating respected personalities, the Tournament is serving as an important platform for budding cricketers to display their talent while promoting discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
