JAMMU, Feb 23: Tawi Trekkers J&K, the largest trekking club in the Union Territory, announced its 2026 calendar of activities, highlighting adventure picnics and short heritage treks for school students. The treks will cover prominent sites in Jammu and Udhampur, including Mohore Garh, Dher Garh, Bhupner Garh-Mansar, Devi Pindian and Naina Devi, with a participation target of 3,000 students.
The calendar was released at the Press Club of Jammu by Chairman Anil Goswami, former Union Home Secretary, in the presence of patrons Ashwani Sharma and Rahul Sharma; advisors Ram Khajuria, Prof. C.K. Khajuria and Vivek Chauhan; Sanjeev Gupta, Risheek Mengi, Sumit Khajuria, Shawetica Khajuria, Arti Sharma, Seema Kharyal, Sonam Sidharth, Amit Khajuria, Shashi Kant Sharma and Sunil Chakharia.
Programmes include Himalayan treks to Kullu-Manali and Dharamshala-Palampur, Dhauladhar expeditions, a 10-day high-altitude Stok trek and a Heritage Trekking Programme in Kangra. The club will also focus on sport climbing with year-long coaching, UT-level women’s competitions and an open UT climbing event in October. Chairman Goswami emphasized promoting mountaineering, climbing, and girls’ participation across J&K.
