KARGIL, Dec 31: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho, attended closing ceremony of District-Level Sports Meet organised by Mera Yuva Bharat, Kargil, in collaboration with Social & Development Welfare Society at Munshi Habibullah Mission Higher Secondary School.
ADC Kacho, the chief guest and Councillor Taisuru Abdul Hadi, guest of honour, along with Zonal Physical Education Officer Ibrahim Shoqi, officials, organisers and youth participants, witnessed the final volleyball match, won by Green Valley, Karkitchoo against Down Town Andoo.
ADC Kacho appreciated the organisers for conducting the meet despite harsh weather, congratulated winners and runners-up and encouraged youth to actively participate in sports. He stressed the importance of sports in building discipline, promoting healthy lifestyles, and staying away from social evils.
Councillor Abdul Hadi praised the players’ enthusiasm and urged youth to prioritise sports for overall development. District Youth Officer, Mera Yuva Bharat, Jigmet Spaldon, highlighted six events for male and female participants and detailed schemes for club affiliation and provision of sports kits to promote youth engagement.
