7th CPL League begins

JAMMU, Dec 26: The 7th edition of the Chinar Premier League (CPL) was inaugurated at MA Stadium, here today, organized by Mehboob ul Alam Sports – MACC Kashmir. The tournament aims to promote sportsmanship, unity, and youth engagement through cricket.
On the opening day, WCC Lolipora defeated Elegant Strikers by a big margin. Batting first, WCC Lolipora scored 219/4, while Elegant Strikers were restricted to 120/7. Junaid Mushtaq’s 84-run knock earned him the Man of the Match award. In the second match, Rehari Kings posted 182/3 and defeated JK XI by 93 runs, with Vishal scoring an unbeaten 67 runs and receiving the Man of the Match honour.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Shabir Ahmad Shah, Dolly Tiku, Ankur Bagati, Waseem Baba, Zahid Farooq, Manzoor Ahmad and Syed Farhat. Addressing the gathering, Dolly Tiku encouraged disciplined play, while Syed Farhat highlighted sports as a means to promote a drug-free and healthy youth.
