Sumit elected President of Tawi Trekkers J&K

JAMMU, Dec 25: In a well-attended election meeting at the Press Club of Jammu, Sumit Khajuria, an accomplished mountaineer was unanimously elected President of Tawi Trekkers J&K.
Shawetica Khajuria was elected Working President, while Sonam Sidharth was re-elected as General Secretary and Shashi Kant Sharma as Joint Secretary. Arti Sharma was re-elected Senior Vice President, Mridhu Padha elected Vice President and Sushil Singh chosen as Treasurer.
Pioneer sport climber Shobha Rajput of Samba, along with senior members Navneet Gupta, Sunil Chakharia of Bishnah, Binder Pal Singh, Ananjan Raghav Khajuria and Rakesh Goswami, were unanimously elected as executive members.
The elections were conducted by club advisor Ram Khajuria in the presence of Rakesh Goswami, executive member of the Mountaineering Association of J&K. The club also welcomed its chairman Anil Goswami, former Home Secretary of India; Co-chairman Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Vice President Press Club Jammu; patrons Ashwani Sharma, former MLA and Rahul Sharma, Chairman, Sprawling Buds ICSE School. Belonging to the second generation of Tawi Trekkers, Sumit Khajuria has led numerous Himalayan expeditions and adventure activities.
