DODA, Dec 21: The 6th District Doda Taekwondo Championships 2025-26 were inaugurated at Indoor Sports Hall, here today, in an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and sporting zeal. The two-day championship is being organized by the Taekwondo Association of District Doda (TADD) under the aegis of the J&K Taekwondo Association (JKTA) and the J&K Sports Council (JKSC).
Junaid Ali Khan, President of TADD, inaugurated the event as chief guest. Muzamil Rashid and Nadeem Niaz accompanied him, while Haroon Zaffer graced the occasion as guest of honour. Rajesh Kotwal, Observer from the J&K Sports Council, was present to monitor the proceedings of the Championship.
The event is being conducted under the supervision of Burhan ud Din Khan, Executive Member JKTA and Secretary TADD, with the support of a qualified panel of referees and officials including Amit Kumar, Rakesh Singh, Tahir Mushtaq, Radha Sharma, Shivansh Rajput and Aniket.
The opening day of the championship witnessed thrilling contests and impressive performances by young Taekwondo athletes. In the Peewee Boys category, gold medals were secured by Ahaan Singh, Hayat Bin Rizwan, Sarmad Zubair, Tabish, Reyansh Raina and Mohammad Tahmeed, while the Peewee Girls gold medalists included Tabir Fatima, Zahra Haider, Izat-e-Afza and Ayleen Fatima. In the Poomsae events, Reyansh Raina, Yaksha Singh, Mohammad Bassam, Ridhima Singh Rukwal, Gul Faiqa, Hanan Zargar, Khadija Ul Qubra, Tahir Mushtaq and Radha Sharma clinched gold medals for their outstanding performances.
