JAMMU, Dec 17: Following the assurance by Sports Minister Satish Sharma for a high-level inquiry into alleged irregularities in the selection process, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has constituted a high-level Enquiry Committee to examine the process of selecting J&K football team for 79th National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy 2025.
The decision was made through Government Order No. 50-JK (YSS) of 2025, issued by the Commissioner/Secretary of the Youth Services and Sports Department, Yasha Mudgal today.
The committee comprises Anuradha Gupta, Director General of Youth Services and Sports, J&K; Mansoor Aslam Chowdhary, Special Secretary, Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs; Manoj Prabhakar, Joint Controller, Legal Metrology Department, J&K; Megha Bougia, Deputy Director Planning/Activities, Directorate of Youth Services and Sports; Satpaul Singh, former Divisional Sports Officer and Chief Coach; Bilal Rasool Parray, Physical Education Teacher, District Budgam and two former national-level footballers, one from Kashmir and other from Jammu.
The committee has been tasked with thoroughly investigating the selection process, determining the factual position and submitting its recommendations within seven days. Public inputs will be gathered through meetings in Jammu and Srinagar, scheduled for three days each.
