JAMMU, Dec 16: The 19th Christmas Gold Cup Football Tournament 2025 was inaugurated at the Mini Stadium, Parade Ground, here today organized by the All J&K Sports and Cultural Welfare Association. The championship witnessed an enthusiastic gathering of budding football talent from across the region.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by MLA Jammu-East, Yudhvir Sethi, along with Anil Masoom (Ex-Municipal Councillor), Kuldeep Singh, Ramesh Chander, David Masih, Yousuf Don, Rattan Lal and other dignitaries.
The opening match saw Nagrota FC edge past J&K Bank Academy with a 1-0 victory, thanks to a brilliant goal by Karantivir in the 33rd minute. The match was officiated by referees Aman Sudhan, Bilal Ahmed, Kartik Sharma and Satnam Singh, while Sodagar Mattoo and Peter Sandhu served as physio for the teams.
The tournament promises exciting matches over the coming days, providing a platform for young footballers to showcase their skills and fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and healthy competition in Jammu.
