RAJOURI, Dec 7: Over 800 runners participated in the Rajouri Police Half Marathon 2025, promoting the message “Every Step for Unity, Every Mile against Drugs.”
The event was graced by Rajinder Sapru, Principal & Sessions Judge Rajouri, as chief guest, with DIG Tejinder Singh and DC Abhishek Sharma as guests of honour. The marathon was flagged off by DIG Tejinder Singh, who praised Rajouri Police for encouraging youth fitness and community engagement.
Organisers ensured smooth arrangements, including traffic management, medical aid, hydration points and security along the route. Winners were later felicitated by the chief guest, DIG, DC, and SSP Gourav Sikarwar with trophies, medals and certificates.
In the 21 km category (18–40), Balvinder Singh, Hans Raj and Balwinder Singh secured top three positions, while in the 40+ category Mangat Singh, Ram Raj and Abhishek Gupta emerged winners.
In the 10 km run (18–40), Ajay Kumar, Imtiaz Ahmed and Tariq Hussain Khan finished in top positions and in the 40+ group Bikram Kumar (ASP HQ Rajouri), Vineet Kumar and Sandeep Sharma claimed the first three ranks. In the women’s 10 km category, Shamshad Bano, Anjali Rajput and Sonali Sharma stood first, second and third respectively.
J&K Bank sponsors, including Cluster Head Deepak Sharma, were felicitated for their support. SSP Gourav Sikarwar thanked all participants and volunteers, reaffirming Rajouri Police’s commitment to fitness, unity, and a drug-free society.
