BHADERWAH, Dec 2: The Olive Green Cup Cricket Tournament, organized by 4 Rashtriya Rifles (BIHAR) under Operation Sadbhavna, concluded at the Government Degree College Ground, here today, with a thrilling finale. Featuring over 80 teams, the tournament emerged as one of the region’s most extensive and spirited sporting events.
The grand finale saw Youth Cricket Club clash with Masood Cricket Club. In a closely contested match, Youth Cricket Club triumphed by 27 runs, showcasing exceptional teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. The closing ceremony was graced by Colonel Yogesh Chauhan, Commanding Officer 4 RR (BIHAR), ADC Bhaderwah Sunil Butyal, SDPO Bhaderwah Naveed Qazi, and the Second-in-Command, 33 CRPF Battalion. Winners, runners-up, best performers, and other achievers were felicitated with trophies and certificates.
Doda Development Committee Chairman Dhanantar Singh Kotwal lauded the Army’s efforts, emphasizing the strong bond between the people of Doda and the security forces. The event also featured a spirited Run for Unity, promoting national integration, and an Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign, encouraging youth to adopt a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
Col Chauhan expressed pride in the overwhelming community participation, reiterating the Army’s commitment to nurturing youth talent, fostering harmony, and strengthening civil–military relations.
