JAMMU, Nov 27: The University of Jammu added another feather to its cap by securing a Bronze Medal in Women’s Sabre Fencing at the ongoing Khelo India University Games (KIUG) 2025 in Rajasthan. The medal-winning team comprised Chhavi Sharma, Mansi Sharma, Mahek Choudhary and Ashu Rani, who showcased exceptional skill, coordination, and determination.
The team registered a thrilling 45-43 victory against Punjabi University Patiala in the quarterfinals, advancing to the semifinals, where they were narrowly defeated by Lovely Professional University, Punjab.
Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, congratulated the athletes for bringing honour to the University and praised their perseverance and sportsmanship. He also lauded the efforts of Coach Ajay Kumar and University Contingent Manager Vikas Karlopia for their guidance and support.
