JAMMU, Nov 17: A large number of Kashmiri Pandits participated in a cycling religious yatra from Gurudwara Sisganj in New Delhi to mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. The yatra, organized under the guidance of Manjit Singh GK, Senior Vice President of the Cycling Federation of India, commenced on November 15 and will culminate on November 20 at Gurudwara Guru Ka Mahal near Amritsar.
President of All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) Ravinder Pandita said that we owe a lot to Guru Teg Bahadur ji and in this regard the event was kick started from Guru Teg Bahadur Gurudwara at LoC Teetwal on September 1. This gurudwara was rebuilt and dedicated to Guru Teg Bahadur ji in 2023 after the same was burnt in 1947 during tribal raids called Pak proxy war. This gurudwara and Sharda temple has been built on the same land where these existed prior to partition at Teetwal, the tip of north India right on LoC.
Issuing a whip to its affiliates of Ambala, Ludhiana and Amritsar, AIKS president has asked Kashmiri Pandits to receive the yatra and be a part of this event. A KP delegation from Faridabad, dressed in traditional attire, also took part in the send-off, paying homage to the Guru and encouraging wider participation in the commemorative events.
