Dogra leads J&K to commanding position over Delhi

DELHI, Nov 9: Skipper Paras Dogra played a masterful innings, scoring a commanding century to put Jammu and Kashmir in a dominant position against Delhi in their Ranji Trophy Elite Group-A clash at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium. J&K ended Day 2 with a first-innings lead of 99 runs, thanks to a brilliant batting display.
Resuming the day at 31/1, J&K showcased resilience and class. Dogra scored 106 off 183 balls, hitting 11 boundaries and a six, marking the 33rd century of his illustrious career. Young talent Abdul Samad contributed a sparkling 85 from 115 balls, with 12 boundaries and a six, while Kanhaiya Wadhawan provided stability, scoring 47 off 81 balls.
Delhi’s bowling was led by Simarjeet Singh, who produced a fine spell of 16.2 overs, taking 6 wickets for 52 runs. He received support from Money Grewal, Ritik Shaheen, and Manan Bharadwaj, who took a wicket each. By stumps, Delhi were 7/0 in their second innings, still trailing by 92 runs. Openers Arpit Rana (2)* and Sanat Sangwan (5)* held their ground as Delhi looked to reduce the deficit.
