SRINAGAR, Sept 30: Jammu & Kashmir is set to host the 69th National School Games (NSG) this October, with over 4000 young athletes from across India participating in four disciplines-Football, Wushu, Taekwondo and Table Tennis-across Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 categories.
The NSG is India’s premier inter-school sporting event, organized under the School Games Federation of India and supported by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, serving as a launchpad for future sports stars.
Director General YSS, Anuradha Gupta, chaired a key meeting in Srinagar to finalize preparations, joined by senior officials. Events will be held in Srinagar and Jammu.
Football (U-19 Boys) kicked off in Srinagar from October 6 to 10, followed by Wushu (U-17 Boys & Girls) from October 28 to Nov 1. The action shifts to Jammu for Taekwondo (U-19 Boys) from Nov 9 to 13 & Nov 15 to 19 and will conclude with Table Tennis (U-19 Boys & Girls) from Nov 21 to 25.
