JAMMU, Sept 17: The Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, organized the Inter-Collegiate Fencing (Men & Women) Championship 2025-26 on 16th at the University’s Fencing Hall. The two-day championship saw enthusiastic participation and an impressive display of agility, technique, and sportsmanship.
In the Men’s category, Shivansh Kapoor (PG Deptt. JU) clinched gold in Epee, while Aadhar Khajuria (GCET Jammu) secured gold in Foil. In Sabre, Trikuta Degree College dominated with Harshit Kohli winning gold.
In the Women’s events, Chhavi Sharma (DRD College of Pharmacy Kathua) bagged gold in Sabre, while Preeti Devi (GDC Reasi) won gold in Epee.
The championship was conducted under the overall supervision of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu. The presence of international fencer Rashid Ahmed Choudhary and other dignitaries added prestige to the event. Matches were officiated by a technical panel comprising Adarsh Slathia, Parvinder Sharma, Padam Dev Singh, Mohd. Tariq, Rahul Sharma and Javed Ahmed Choudhary.
