JAMMU, Sept 11: The sports fraternity of Jammu and Kashmir is in mourning following the tragic death of Kanchan Kumari, a promising woman cricketer and Rehbar-e-Khel Physical Education Teacher from Sports Zone Satwari, who lost her life in a fatal road accident.
The Directorate of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) expressed deep sorrow over the untimely demise. Anuradha Gupta, Director General, Youth Services and Sports Department, conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the department.
“We are devastated by the loss of such a promising young talent. Kanchan Kumari was a dedicated and dynamic sportsperson who represented the vibrant future of cricket in J&K,” said Gupta in her statement. She extended sympathies to the bereaved family.
