BUDGAM, Sept 8: The Inter-District Provincial Level Wushu Championship for Under-17 and Under-19 Girls commenced at Narbal Sunderabad, here today, under the banner of the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Jammu & Kashmir. The event is part of an ongoing series of inter-district championships aimed at nurturing young talent across the Union Territory.
The championship was formally inaugurated by the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Budgam, in the presence of senior officials from the Sports Department. Addressing the athletes, the CEO encouraged them to participate in sports actively, highlighting its importance in building physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and leadership skills. He also lauded the efforts of the organizers and officials for their efficient planning and smooth execution of the event.
The opening day featured exciting and competitive bouts, with participants from multiple districts showcasing impressive skill, determination, and sportsmanship. The energy and enthusiasm on display were a testament to the growing interest in Wushu among young girls in the region. The event will continue until September 9, providing a crucial platform for aspiring athletes to shine.
