JAMMU, Aug 10: Two students from Government Higher Secondary School, Jhiri-Manvi and Anshu Devi, both Class 9 students-along with their teacher Priti Malhotra (Lecturer), tied Rakhi to the President of India, Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
The students were selected as part of a special initiative to give young learners meaningful exposure and national-level interaction. During the meeting, President Murmu encouraged the students to plant saplings and protect the environment. She also inspired them with her humility and motivating words.
“It was a life-changing moment that filled us with pride and patriotism,” said escort teacher Priti Malhotra. The students also visited the Prime Ministers’ Museum, Amrit Udyan and War Memorial. The School Education Department, Jammu Division, facilitated this memorable and inspiring visit.
