J&K Women’s cricket team can beat the best: Head Coach Latika

JAMMU, July 23: Former international cricketer and Head Coach of J&K Senior Women’s team, Latika Kumari Sangwan, is currently mentoring women cricketers during the Pre-Season Camp for Senior and U-23 Women’s probables, being held by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) in Jammu.
Latika expressed confidence in the rising graph of JKCA women’s cricket, attributing it to the commitment of both players and the administration.
Latika emphasized the importance of believing in the process to achieve international-level success. Highlighting her key focus areas this season, she said her primary goals include improving bowlers’ consistency in hitting the right areas, enhancing players’ fitness and fielding and helping batters manage the net run-rate in pressure situations. She noted that while skill levels are commendable, mental toughness sets great players apart.
“Creating a positive atmosphere and promoting team cohesion is the mantra for success. I believe the J&K women’s team has the talent to beat the best on their day,” Latika added, signalling a focused and determined approach ahead of the domestic season.
