JAMMU, May 29: Dominating performances marked the opening matches of the ongoing Inter-Departmental Cricket Tournament 2025-26 for Men at the University of Jammu Cricket Ground, here today.
In the first match, the Department of Physical Education registered a comprehensive 10-wicket victory over the Physics Department. Batting first, Physics managed only 65/9 in the allotted 15 overs, with Amir top-scoring with 33 runs. Sandy from the Physical Education Department was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 wickets for 13 runs. Chasing the target, Physical Education cruised to victory in just 5.1 overs without losing a wicket, with Ankush hammering an unbeaten 55.
In another thrilling encounter, MCA Department defeated the Sociology Department by 5 wickets. Sociology posted 108/9 in their 15 overs, with Sangam contributing 28 runs. MCA responded aggressively, reaching the target in 9.5 overs. Marutwan led the chase with a quickfire 44.
The tournament is being conducted under the overall supervision of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Chairman, Campus Sports Committee and is efficiently coordinated by Raj Kumar Bakshi, Incharge PTI.
