JAMMU, Jan 24: The two-day Volleyball Tournament organized by the Border Security Force (BSF) under the Civic Action Program at Border Post Gol Pattan concluded with great success. The closing ceremony was graced by Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Varinder Dutta, who attended as the chief guest. He was joined by Commandant Nandan Singh Bisht, Commandant, Suresh Kumar Shashni, Rajeev Kumar Khugshal (Second-in-Command) and Vikrant Singh (Deputy Commandant).
During the event, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Varinder Dutta took time to interact with the players and inspire the young athletes. A total of eight teams from the border villages participated in the competition. In a thrilling final match, Team Galwade Chak emerged victorious, while Hanuman Club finished as the runner-up.
The winning team received a trophy, volleyball kits, and T-shirts, while the runner-up team was awarded the runner-up trophy and volleyball kits. Neeraj Choudhary from Team Gangu Chak was honoured as the best player of the tournament.
The BSF has been consistently organizing such events in border villages to promote youth engagement in sports and to build stronger bonds between the border guards and the local communities, fostering mutual cooperation and camaraderie.
