Kargil Martyrs Club holds Handball tourney

UDHAMPUR, Jan 20: A two-day Handball tournament was organized by the Kargil Martyrs Handball Club at the Mini Stadium Handball Court in Udhampur for U-14 and U-17 age groups, featuring both boys and girls teams. A total of 11 teams participated in the event, which aimed to promote handball among local youth.
The opening ceremony was attended by Romesh Chander Mishra, DYSSO Udhampur, as the chief guest, along with other dignitaries such as Sushma Gupta (ZPEO Jib), Deep Kumar (ZPEO Udhampur), and others.
In the opening matches, Higher Secondary Boys School Udhampur defeated GHSS Barta by 12-5 in the boys’ category, while SPM Convent School Udhampur won against GHSS Barta by 11-7 in the girls’ category.
The technical committee, including Rishi Sharma, Bhoopinder Singh, and others, ensured the smooth conduct of the tournament. The event provided a platform for young players to showcase their skills and boost the sport’s popularity in the region.
