JAMMU, Oct 17: Govt. SPMR College of Commerce emerged victorious in the Fencing (Men) competition, while GCW Gandhi Nagar Jammu claimed the top spot in the Fencing (Women) Inter-College competition held here today at University of Jammu. The competitions were organized by the Cluster University of Jammu.
The men’s section saw Govt. SPMR College of Commerce won with a total of 16 points, with GGM Science College securing second place with 8 points. In the women’s section, GCW Gandhi Nagar took the title with 16 points, and Govt. SPMR College of Commerce followed in second place with 13 points.
The event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) B. B. Anand, Principal of Govt. MAM College, as the chief guest, and Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Director of Physical Education & Sports, Cluster University of Jammu, as the guest of honour. Dr. Bakshi also supervised the event alongside Neenu Sawhney, Physical Director of Govt. MAM College.
The event was officiated by Anthony Mattoo, Ujawal Gupta, and Tony Mattoo, with notable dignitaries such as Dr. Anil Singh, Dr. Shamboo Manhas, Dr. Sanjay Samyal, Dr. Rouf Bhat, Kajal Premi, Physical Director GCW Gandhi Nagar, Neelam Chalotra, Assistant Physical Director Govt. MAM College, Prof. Shabnam Malik (Guest Faculty).
